What Is Velwythe?

If you’re new to Velwythe and not quite sure what to make of all the links and info you’ve come to the right place. Velwythe.com is the world of Velwythe, and that world is where all the books, comics, stories, articles and images are found. All you need to begin editing is to sign up for an account. So here’s a bit more about what to expect.

1. Home, City and Province Info: This information is found at the top of every page. It includes Splash, Home, Like a Brick Comics, and all the cities/provinces. Here you can view the splash page again, return to the home page, find and read the Like a Brick Comic series, contact anyone in the world of Velwythe (including Bonn) and more. You can also learn about all the cities and provinces on Atla, the primary continent of Velwythe. Along with the brief histories of each area you can find the maps and pictures, or ‘captures’ as they are known in the world of Velwythe, of each area.

2. Newspapers: On the right side of your screen are the names of several newspapers. These include the Alpine Daily Herald, FreePort Daily Beacon, Morrid Current and more. These are the newspapers for each of the capital cities in each province. The articles you read are the very same Vaan and Duncan might read in the stories. They also highlight everything going on in Velwythe between the books. The days of waiting for the next book to find out what’s happening in the story are over. You, as readers, have the opportunity to write these articles as well, though to do that you must request permission to become a staff member of the given paper. All you need to do to write is be a regular contributor (comments, wiki posts and edits, facebook quizes) and let us know through an email, that you want to write the articles.

3. Outside Links: Below the newspapers are the Vel-Links. These links take you to the parts of Velwythe outside of the actual website. Here you can see what’s happening on the Velwythe Facebook fan page, check out Bonn’s Twitter feed, learn more about Velwythe’s publisher and more. Here you can also find the latest news and media about Velwythe through the Media and Press page. If there’s an article, interview, video or anything else that talks about Velwythe, you can find them here.

4. Core Links: You can buy the books, register an account or see the latest news and events in the world of Velwythe (from book signings to changes to the site). And one of the most important aspects of the site is found here too, and that’s the Velwythe wiki. Through the Velwythe wiki you can create and edit the world of Velwythe any way you want. Want to create a new city? Go for it. Want to elaborate on the history of FreePort? By all means. Here you can create, build, shape and change the foundation of the world itself.

5. Latest Edits: This is a list of the ten most recent articles created or edited.
